Sara Schmied wins U20 World Championship title – bronze for Valentino Buff

Medal blessing for the SMBC at the Junior World Championships on their home track in St. Moritz: Sara Schmied (pictured right) grabbed the gold medal in the U20 classification of the Junior World Championships, ahead of Cosima Sebastian (De) and Sarah Baumgartner (Oe). Schmied also won the silver medal in the overall ranking of the Junior Skeleton World Championships. In the men's category, young skeletoni Valentino Buff secured another SMBC podium finish in the U20 classification and won bronze. Only Lavreniuk (UKR) and Youth Olympic champion Endriksons (LAT) were able to place ahead of Buff.

With 6th place for Vinzenz Buff and 7th place for Valentino Buff in the men's overall ranking, the SMBC young skeletons underlined their upward trend, a year before the Olympic Winter Games in Milano-Cortina in 2026.
